Our Goals

We have set up this company with a simple ethos:

  • Reduce Indemnity Spend.
  • Reduce Loss Leakage.
  • Apply common sense and technology to make sensible decisions.

We have all seen too many examples of insane decisions based around poor information, poor communication and dubious conflicts of interest, resulting in massively increased spend by insurers, complaints and fed up clients.

How Do We Do This?

We keep it simple, we take ownership of the job and stay committed until the problem is identified and fixed. We use a qualified and experienced plumber who completely buys into the company ethos. We utilize some clever technology where needed, such as Infrared cameras, Boroscope cameras, Tracer gas, Gravimetric testing, and more importantly, we have well trained technicians who understand moisture damage in buildings and understand the effects this has on different materials. For example, if a moisture meter tells us there is a high level of moisture present on a wall, this doesn’t necessarily mean we have a problem. If the decorative finishes are not affected and there are no other indicators of a problem, then there is not a problem, leave it alone!

What We Don’t Do

  • Carry out unnecessary strip outs or recommend expensive remedial solutions where a simpler solution is available.
  • We don’t give up on a claim.
  • We don’t stop communicating with our clients.

About Paradigm Reinstatements

Paradigm Reinstatements derives its name from the phrase ‘Paradigm Shift’. A paradigm shift is used to describe a fundamental change in the way something is done and is best described using the example of the Watch Industry. Prior to the 1970’s - 90% of all the Worlds watches were made in Switzerland, unfortunately when the Swiss were presented with the new LCD quartz technology in the 70’s they turned it down assuming it would never take on. 10 yrs later 90% of all watches were LCD quartz and made in Japan. Similarly the invention of the jet engine by Frank Whittle signaled a sudden and total change in the way aircraft were designed, built and used. Both these examples illustrate a Paradigm Shift and this is how we came to name Paradigm Reinstatements using the strap line ‘Restoring Sense’.

Examples of Our Work

Over recent years we have numerous examples where our approach has resulted in savings of tens of thousands of pounds and one notable example in a modern Glasgow block where our knowledge and understanding of moisture damage and building materials saved over £100,000. Prior to our involvement a simple escape of water from a shower mains feed had caused water damage to 4 flats below. The contractor involved had estimated for major strip outs of all properties, removing all internal partitioning, flooring and ceilings, effectively turning these flats into a construction site, eight floors up. We applied our knowledge and reduced the spend to less than £25,000. We understood that a concrete structure of this size could absorb hundreds of gallons of water and not cause hidden problems in the future, and we proved this by carrying out some gravimetric testing.
